Foam and pipe sleeves have solved it, I hope. Anyway, it sounds like you have a plumber already, but we really like ours, if you're looking for another. Hopefully we'll find a good contractor to sort it all out in the spring, which will no doubt mean ripping up and reinsulating the back bathroom, which is generally freezing cold (apparently literally) during the winter time. In our downstairs bathroom, at least one of the pipes is separated from the brick by a thin bit of styrofoam. Apparently it's leaky enough to not actually break when it freezes.... so far... Eeeeeek!
