Spacing.ca intersection

Today’s has me totally stumped. It’s a signalled intersection on a fairly wide street, with some sort of dead end or curve the better part of a mile away.
The street we’re looking down has a feel of a secondary throughfare like maybe Dupont or Mortimer. The houses look too old for Mortimer.
Guessing somewhat randomly, I’m going to say Bathurst and Dupont on Dupont, looking west.
Judging from the cars, time period would be late 60s-early 70s. I wonder when they built that nasty-looking credit union building.
That’s a better guess than any of mine. It’s about the right size of street, it explains the gas station, and also the street disappearing at about the right distance for Ossington.
I have no clue about that one either.
I don’t think it’s Dupont — the left side of the photo looks wrong for Dupont, somehow. Someplace on Dundas was my rather random thought.
I agree with MCP on Dupont, although the gas station at the corner makes me wonder if it is Dupont and Bathurst after all. I’m trying to think where it would be on Dundas, if that’s what it is…
Looking at it again now, could it be somewhere up near St. Clair and Bathurst, i.e. Bathurst a couple of blocks north of St. Clair? I don’t know why that occurs to me… and it wouldn’t explain the dead end or curve.
It’s not clear, but there seem to be streetcar tracks on ths crossing street, which backs up the Dupont/Bathurst theory. Of course, there was a Dupont streetcar at one point, but it was gone by the early ’60s. The cars are maybe late ’60s, so that’s OK.
I can’t see the streetcar tracks.
There’s something very familiar-looking about the house on the left-hand corner, but it’s probably just the style that makes me think I’ve seen it before.
The house itself makes me think of Jarvis, but that can’t be right.
Jarvis had crossed my mind too. Jarvis and Richmond? Isn’t there a gas station there?
Hadn’t thought of the east downtown. I don’t think it could be Jarvis and Richmond. Maybe somewhere else on Jarvis? Gerrard looking east at Jarvis? But then you’d see Allan Gardens on the left.
As a second guess I like D48′s idea of Bathurst looking south, a bit north of St. Clair.
So when do we all find out?
3pm, apparently.
EXCEPT IT’S LIKE 4:37 NOW AND THEY STILL AREN’T TELLING. Hmph.
Hmph.
Gerrard at Sherbourne, apparently.
Eminent Annex Historian, a colleague, looked over my shoulder, blinked twice and nailed it.
Check out the comments – everybody found it as hard as we did.
Well, you got close with Gerrard and Jarvis. Hell, *we* got close… definitely took a group effort to steer it there!
Holy cow, some of those comments are good. Check out this one and this one.
