Poor Ed

No sooner has he cooled than the speculation about the Honest Ed’s site begins.

I lived a few blocks away from the store 15 years ago or so, and it didn’t seem like a place that was raking in the cash even then. There was probably a point in the past, maybe about the time I was in kindergarten, when it was lively and fun, but I missed that era. I’d be curious to know when it last made money.

(On the other hand, their religious goods section was a tourist attraction in its own right.)

A 20-story condo building might be very good for the retail strip to the west, going toward Christie.
