Pass the pistachios

Here’s a link to a fun table of all the American Food Holidays during the year. Some dates for the calendar:
Drink Wine Day (February 18)
National Chocolate Eclair Day (June 22)
Cook Something Bold And Pungent Day (November 9)
However, I’m willing to bet that no one’s birthday sucks as much as mine.
Unless, of course, you’re born on October 14…
Woo-hoo! I will be celebrating national cherry turnover day this year!
At least the Oct 14 people could nibble the chocolate coating. There’s not much you can do with sodium bicarbonate… volcanoes?
I get PB&J (boring), but D gets macaroons and M gets pastry — much better.
October 27 would also be pretty bad.
I am changing my birthday to January 18 - Peking duck!!!
I was happy to learn that Thomas’s birthday (Nov. 18) is National Vichyssoise Day. As luck would have it, he adores Vichyssoise — he had it for dinner just last night, in fact (well, leek & potato soup served warm).
Perhaps we should have a tasting in honour of Feb. 18…
Oct. 27 should be made bubbling tofu day. Just had some and my mouth is still buzzing.
OK, apparently we’re going to have to get a Korean font for this blog… (those question marks I see above on M’s post are supposed to Korean characters)
(according to CG, who seems to have the right font)
Oct. 27 is also my Dad’s b’day. I don’t think he’d go for bubbling tofu. Perhaps we could leave the potatoes for him and replace the US beer with the tofu.
National Potato Day? How appropriate, given your Austro-Hungarian heritage.
