TORONTO, April 5 /CNW/ – The Chair of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming
Corporation (OLG), Michael Gough, today announced that Vice President of
Corporate Security and Surveillance, Michael Sharland, will be taking a paid
leave of absence effective immediately.
The Toronto Police Service, at the request of the Ontario Provincial
Police, is conducting an independent review of all matters relating to the
potential conflict of interest posed by the secondment of the former OPP
officer to OLG.
Mr. Gough said, “To ensure there is no perception of a conflict of
interest, Mr. Sharland will be on a paid leave of absence until the
independent review is complete.”
The decision to take a paid leave of absence was reached following
discussions between Mr. Sharland and the Board Chair.
